Pumpkin Patch Planning

OK, I am soooo excited. Next month is October...and I cannot contain my excitement!! Jessica and I went online today and planned our EZ Orchards pumpkin patch day. The kids, Jess, Nick, John, my mom, hopefully H, and my niece and nephew will come. They're going to have hay rides, corn maze, yummy apple cider donuts (which I am very tempted to eat, but need to talk myself out of because of the sugar....sob!), curly fries, oh my! You can be sure that I will post a ton of pics on that very day!

Autumn Equinox

We finally have some rain today....I was going to make my traditional Autumn Equinox meal, but realized I am out of honey, I can't have corn bread without honey, nope! So, I will make that tomorrow and today I'm going to make some yummy black bean soup and biscuits. Summer is officially ending. Autumn Blessings!

'And even when the trees have just surrendered
To the harvest time
Forfeiting their leaves in late September
And sending us inside
Still I notice You when change begins
And I am braced for colder winds
I will offer thanks for what has been and was to come
You are autumn'
(Nichole Nordeman)

I decorated today....fun!

Ahh...the rain....

Surprise from hubby

Our bathroom sink is clogged...again...and John decided to try and clean the pipes with a snake, but when he took the pipes apart, they just disinegrated. He wasn't very pleased about that, so he had to make a trip to Home Depot to get some new piping. So, he calls me when he leaves, and tells me he got me a surprise, and that it's cute. I'm thinking, a cute surprise from Home Depot? I must say Home Depot is NOT my favorite place to shop, as a matter of fact it's extremely boring for me, and I avoid going with him, because he asks a lot of questions about wiring and things like that. One of my favorite episodes on the Newlyweds with Jessica and Nick, is their trip to Home Depot, because Jessica looks so bored, I feel her pain....anyways....I'm thinking what could he possibly buy me that is cute from Home Depot. I think, maybe it's some cute squirrel feeder, or bird bath, or something cool for the yard. I get home, and I see this big box and discover the cute surprise....mind you, it's very exciting.....but I wouldn't exactly call it cute. He bought me a Dyson vacuum cleaner....I have been wanting one of those for years!!! That thing does everything, and isn't suppose to ever lose its suction. So, I of course had to test it out, and WOW, it was awesome!! After I was done, my carpet was soooo clean, it was like walking on freshly shampooed carpet. It was a nice surprise, where he got cute from, is beyond me, maybe guys think us ladies think vacuum cleaners are cute? Hmmmm, I'm not sure, but it is sooo cool! Unfortunetly, the piping didn't work, so he has to go back tomorrow, but I got my Dyson!

Full Moon, Bathing Suit Babe, and Nature

This weeks full moon was awesome! It was red/orange. Had to get my camera out for it. I could have stood out there forever looking at it, it was so pretty.

A baby oak...

I love this squirrel, he just finished drinking water and had to stare at me for a while.
Hubby thought this tree was pretty on our walk, so I snapped a pic...
Baby monday day..... what a cute bathing suit babe....

Random pics of my week

I finally got my Baby Mamma movie last night, it was really good!

Jessica and I went to the park for lunch and found a nice cozy spot to read our books, it was perfect!

I came home yesterday to Jessica, Shanny and not one, but two babes in my front yard. It's always good too see babes!

I'm still trying to figure out my moon setting pics, but last night I got this one in my backyard.

Jessica Simpsons new album came out this week, and hubby didn't get paid until Friday, so I had some fun making up a donation area, Heather donated the funds for my purchase!

Me with my new CD!

Squash Recipe

I found this recipe on the Internet several years ago, and it has now become a traditional Autumn Equinox dinner for me. I have the Squash, some vegetarian canned beans and some corn bread...yummy!

Baked Acorn Squash with Apple Stuffing

1 Medium Acorn Squash
2 Small apples, unpeeled, diced
2 Tbsp diced celery
2 tsp minced onion
2 tsp butter, melted
2 Tbsp water
Dash of salt

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

Cut squash in half, remove seeds. Place cut side down on baking sheet sprayed with vegetable pan spray.

Combine apples, celery and onion. Add butter and water. Put in small baking dish. Cover.

Bake squash and apple stuffing for 45 minutes. Remove from oven.

Salt squash. Fill with apple mixture.

Monday Babe day Part 2

I had to add this video of my day with the Babe (see part one below this post), because, well, I just can't get enough of that cute baby....

Baby Monday

Today was my day to spend with the Babe, and it was full of baby excitement. Soooo, here is my day with the Babe in pictures......there are a ton, so prepare to stay a while.....

"mmm, cheerios for breakfast"

It was then time for play and finding things to get into.....

"I love playing in my room"

"yep, we are pretty goofy""Grandma, give me your glasses, I want them badly"

"Grandma, I'm not into Will and Grace like you, I'm going to go find something fun to do"

"Ah, a cable cord, that looks exciting"

....but not for too long

Hmmm, what's in here?

The treasure to be found under a couch cushion, ecspecially since brother and siter visited

Yep, kid treasure, one more thing for mom to "babe" proof...hee, hee.Snack time!

Ok, done snacking, time for mischief again.....hmmm, this printer looks fun!

Toy sitting: finding a toy and just sitting on it, yep, pretty self explanatory!

Grandma putting a comb in my pocket so she can get a cute 'comb in back pocket butt shot' cause Grandma thinks it looks cute!

After nap time, it's time to eat some lunch.....that's funny I guess....

"I love going for walks"

"Hey, it's grandpa"

Grandma can't take a walk without taking a picture of a leaf....

"Bye Grandma"

Tori Spelling and Visits

Today Jessica and I finally got our Tori Spelling books. We took our books to the park on lunch and started reading. Heather visited us at the office today, what a nice surprise, and then John and I visited the Babe. It was a very nice day....until...I went to make hubbys spaghetti and the noodle bag ripped too far and the noodles went all over the floor. That sucked, but my dog didn't think so. Over-all, it was a pretty exciting day, at least it was full of surprises and Tori Spelling.

Yay, finally got my Tori book...this book was hard to find, had to finally order it online:

A suprise visit from Heather at the office, I made her take a picture with me by the year round tree that Jessica decorated for back to school : Grandpa playing with the Babe:

Tuesday night Warhammer

Last night Amy and I played our Warhammer Wood Elves against each other. We are both new players and just learning how to play. It was really fun, and it's kind of exciting to be using a bit of strategy in the game now. We are starting off with a low point army and then working our way up. I'm so glad I have someone to learn with.
The game is set:

Us smiling for the camera, I knew I was gonna blog about it.

Sunday Me Time

Yesterday was such a relaxing day. For breakfast I made blueberry pancakes for me and hubby, well, he's a picky eater so his was blueberry free. He had a painting class to teach, so I had the whole house to myself...it was so relaxing. I made Pumpkin muffins, yum, they are so good! I enjoyed a rain shower, some scrapbooking, playing a bit with my dog Noah and reading some Dragonlance. I still have two days off before going back to work, and I intend to take full advantage of that, and do whatever I feel like doing....yay!
