Yay, it's Friday

Well, Friday has finally arrived, I don't know why that's so shocking to me, considering my weeks seem to fly by anyways. I'm hoping I won't end up having to work tomorrow though, because I have to finish getting the rest of the W-2's out today, if I can't get them done, I will need to stay after today, or come in tomorrow.
Tomorrow is Jessicas birthday, so this morning I'm going to go track down a gift for her. Not sure what that is going to be yet, but I will think of something.
I found a Naturopath Doc this week, and he is having me check my blood sugar levels, record my pulse, my temp and all kinds of stuff, so I'm going to start doing that tomorrow. I should have started yesterday, but I need to go get a really good thermometer and I need to find some sort of stop watch or something to track my pulse. Ugh, hopefully this will all pay off in the end, cause it's going to be a lot of work. I suppose I like challenges though.
John is watching Lost with me now, but I'm going to sneek in some episodes over at Jessicas because through the whole show he constantly is trying to guess what's going on, it's highly distracting.
Off to find that gift and some supplies now......

Hot Peta Video

In case you all haven't heard, Petas veg ad was pulled from showing on Super Bowl Sunday. No worries though, more people will view it now, which is totally awesome. The video is pretty freakin hot! I think it's intersting, that you can see tons of female sexy ads, or watch a sex scene on my soap (which is extremely steamy - no complaints here) that's also on NBC, but not this ad. Well, see for yourself....but I think it rocks!

The Babe this week in pics

Monday I stopped by the office and the Babe went right to my phone, picked it up and said "hi". I snapped the pic just as she was saying it!

Being creative at the piano...

Aunt Heather and the Babe at the table, right before Aunt Heather gave the Babe a taste of her Jamba Juice....
Enjoying her apple sauce......

Vampire or Lycan?

John is a HUGE Underworld fan, bordering almost on movie abuser. So, we had to go see Underworld Rise of the Lycans last night. It was really good, and I think it was my favorite of all of the Underworld movies, but I am also a fan of Lucian, and it was pretty much his story, so that was cool. John and I have those strange conversations like "would you want to be a Predator or an Alien" (I ALWAYS choose Alien), and of course after he has watched Underworld 1 or II for the millionth time "Vampire or Lycan". I always say vampire, but after watching the movie last night, I changed my mind, and will say Lycan, except there aren't any female Lycan that I have seen.

Some thoughts

Thinking about my life of late, I just wanted to write about how lucky I am. I am exactly where I want to be right now, in ways I never thought possible, and am surrounded by the people that really matter to me.....
I love my spiritual path, I love that I'm passionate about the envrironment, it has really opened up new things to me, seeing the world in a different light, and has helped me make better choices about the things I do, and buy. It really has totally changed my life.

I love discovering new things. I'm thankful for music, for the inspiration, and peace it gives me (currently Fleet Foxes).

I love being creative. This past Saturday, me, Jess and my mom went downtown for scrap day. I started a family book, and used older pictures of us. I'm amazed at how fast the kids have grown up.

I am so thankful for Jessica. I am so proud of her, for being such a good mom to her Babe, and how dedicated she is to becoming a step-mom. I am proud of her relationship with Nick too. It's funny looking back, I wanted to protect her so much from the things I had to go through being a step parent, I didn't really look deeper into her relationship with Nick. I'm glad he's in her life, he is trying the best that he can to give her stability, strength, and become a leader for his family. I've seen them both grow so much in the past few months, and am so proud of both of them. Jessica is very lucky to have her family, she is such a great inspiration to them and everyone she meets. She is my biggest confidant, and I love her so very much!

I'm so lucky to have John as my husband. He's always there to tell me how pretty I am (even when I know I look like I just got run over by a truck...lol), he tries his best to support me when I'm being an emotional drama Queen, and make me laugh, and laugh, and laugh, and laugh.

These past few years have been pretty hard on me, having some issues with some family members, issues that are still not resolved, and sometimes I think never will be. But, it really doesn't matter anymore, I know who brings joy and healing into my life, and I know who drains me. I know the difference between sincerety, and just words.

I may not have a lot of people in my life, but the ones that I do, I'm so blessed to have.

Vampires, Atonement and Brett Michaels....oh my!

I finished my vampire book at 3:00 am on the 1st....I just couldn't put it down! It was so good. John went with me to Borders the next day and I got the next four in the series. So, Dragonlance is on a hold for a bit! I'm reading the next one now, called 'Dead in Dallas'. There is a new HBO series based on the books called True Blood with Anna Paquin (Rogue from Xmen), we don't get HBO, so I'll have to wait for DVD.
I was going to watch Mama Mia on Saturday, but decided to watch Sweeney Todd instead, we used our Blockbuster gift card from Jess and Nick, and I picked Sweeney Todd, but when I opened up the case to watch it, there was no freakin movie in it, wasn't happy about that. So, I decided to watch Atonement. It was sooooo good, up there in my top ten. Now I want to read the book because I liked the movie so well, the book I bet will be even better.
So, Sunday the new Rock of Love started. I wasn't going to watch it because of all the girl drama, but saw Brett Michaels promoting it, and just couldn't resist. I DVR'd it so Jess and I can watch it together, reality tv is so much better with a friend. We're going to watch it sometime this week.
Off to work now.
