Sunny Sunday

The sun has arrived in Oregon, and as usual the heat doesn't slowly rise, it slams you. Its in the 80's today, but I think on Tuesday it's suppose to be back in the 60's. John, me and The Babe enjoyed the sunshine out back today. John and I cleaned up along the side of the house, we hadn't trimmed the bushes since the freeze this year, and the ice did some damage. It looks really good now. We did fill up 4 yard carts though, and I couldn't weed the dirt pile today. Hopefully the weeds won't be too tall by next wknd, because there are some stickery ones in the mix.
Korissa had fun in her pool. She wore her new flamingo bathing suit too. After some pool time, we went to the store and we each got a popsicle. When Jess picked the Babe up, she was pretty dirty. It's funny, because when she was playing in her pool, she kept getting some dirt in her hands and would bring it back to the pool. John is like "that's going to make a big mess". I'm like "that's the whole fun of it". Remember having mud fights as a child? I loved it. I promise Jess, I will clean her up first after a mud fight though.
Heather called this evening, and she is going to be emailing me her address. She will be in Georgia until July now, so she will be able to receive mail there.
Looks like the rest of the evening is going to be some gaming and reading. Looking forward to lunch with Jessica tomorrow at Golden Tent....yum!

I think this squirrel was thinking the dog might be coming outside (Noah thinks he is a mighty squirrel hunter or something), it looks frozen....

The Babe enjoying some juice and some of grandpas chips....

What a smiley Babe....
The water got on her belly....brrr.....
John trimming...in the back you can see the weeds on the dirt pile.

My Mothers Day

Jess made me the coolest mothers day gift (see pic below)....and H called me from Georgia, but the reception was horrible, so it was pretty short. I watched the Babe today, which is a treat for me. We played in the backyard in the dirt pile. She had a lot of fun, and it held her attention for quite some time, until I decided I should give her a bath so her mom didn't pick up a dirty girl....hee, hee. It was an awesome day today. If H would have been here, it would have been perfect!

I LOVE this gift......

Heather leaves, and Jess too....sort of

Wow, a lot has happened in the last few days. Saturday we went up to Portland for Heathers mobilization ceremony. It was about an hour long, the Gov was there, the Portland Mayor and some senators. Hannah kept texting Heather to see if we would get to say goodbye afterwards, but H said she didn't think so. After the ceremony, they were rushed to their buses to head to the airport. All the families went over that way, and some were able to say goodbye, because they weren't on the bus yet. H was already on her bus and said they wouldn't let them off. We waited, and waited, hoping to be able to see her again, and getting mad because we could see all these other families saying goodbye and we couldn't. Then we see her running towards us. Tears, tears and more tears. I can't even express how in that moment hugging her how I felt. I love her so much! We all said our goodbyes, and she was off again. She was sick when she got to Georgia, but is starting to feel better now. She said they have only been getting about 4-5 hours of sleep because of the training. I really miss her a bunch right now.
Yesterday was a strange office day. I helped Jess move some of her things to her house. She's going to only be doing a few hours work for us, so she can spend time with her Babe. I am so excited for her, but will miss my office partner in crime. I told her I still have to have Babe day though, so I will have her on Sundays and when they get the kids, I'll watch her while they go to Washington to pick them up. Makes for a long trip for a little one.
I did buy a car seat for our car this wknd though, because Jessicas is a pain to get in and out of my car (honda prelude, not super kid friendly, but it's real pretty). Now I can go places with the Babe. The first trip we took was to Toys R Us. I love being a Gram!
