We often associate the heart with emotions such as love and kindness as in "He has a good heart". This is also true with the Hebrews who saw the heart as the seat of emotion. But unlike us they also saw the heart as the seat of thought whereas we see the brain as the seat of thought. To the ancient Hebrews the heart was the mind including all thoughts including emotions. When we are told to love God with all our heart (Deut 6:5) it is not speaking of an emotional love but to keep our emotions and all our thoughts working for him. The first picture in this Hebrew word is a shepherd staff and represents authority as the shepherd has authority over his flock. The second letter is the picture of the floor plan of the nomadic tent and represents the idea of being inside as the family resides within the tent. When combined they mean "the authority within".
I'm a weirdo, I'm creative, I love 'LOVE', I'm random, I love to write, I love spiders, I love taking pictures, I love Halloween, and I love my family.....they rock! So, pretty much this blog is about all of the above!

Heart 2014
My word for the New Year is HEART. To me heart is about loving God, others and all the creatures of the Earth. But I don't want the word to just be what I usually associate with it. To me I want it to also be about this (taken from a website on Hebrew word meanings).....

Memory Jar 2013
- Saw the movie Mama with Jessica on 1/20/13. Spooky :)
- Some of my fortune cookie fortunes for the year: 'Keep up the good work, you will be rewarded'. 'Life is a series of choices. Today yours are good ones'. 'Do not hide your feelings, let others know where you stand'. And 'An unexpected payment is coming your way'! Something on four wheels will soon be a fun investment for you'! I'm pretty sure that was not about me, but John because he got a nice truck and White Boy keeps breaking down on me, ha ha. I guess I ate out a lot at Golden Dragon and one time at Mongolian.
- Saw Oz in 3D on 3/9/2013 with Jess, Jackie and Heather
- On my birthday the girls took me to Silver Falls. So fun!!
- Christmas coast party for D&O. We stayed at the Pelican Shores, which was a very nice hotel.
- A snippet of what H wrote me on Mother's Day "You are the spice to my hot cheetos".
- 12/8/13 Saw Catching Fire with John and Cassidy. LOVED it!
- 12/15/13 The Hobbit with John, David and Jen. I love The Hobbit :)
- A Post It from Jess when I was having a bad day craving cigarettes: Tammy you are beautiful! I love you! Keep smiling sexy!

Facebook Freedom
So today I decided to deactivate my Facebook page. I used to love Facebook. It's fun looking at pictures that friends post. I like reading my families updates and fun little tid-bits about my Granddaughter. Lately though, it's turned into a page to post all about your political views, your sexual orientation, your rights to freedom. It's turning into a place that makes me feel uncomfortable and at times pretty angry. It was causing me more stress than peace. I don't have any issues about seeing others views or opinions but when some of those views are taken out of context, or cause a bunch of people to start ranting about this or that, it just becomes too much. We see so much of this in the "real world", I don't want to see it on Facebook. I feel good about it!

Snow dogs
First snow of the year. I wondered how Sookie would like the snow, and it doesn't faze her at all. Buddy seems to love it.

Thanksgiving
Sadly I have been lame about picture taking because I haven't been keeping up on my blogging so I didn't get too many Thanksgiving pictures. It was such a nice day though. The whole family was there and as usual, the food was delish.

Hollywood
Our last day we went to Hollywood. I was not impressed. Where we went, it was really gross, and I felt like I was going to get mugged ha ha. We ended at a comedy club which was super fun though.
I think she's saying "hooters" |

We didn't see Mickey at Disneyland, I guess he was in Hollywood. |

Disneyland
I don't need to say a whole lot about Disneyland, because well, it's Disneyland....the happiest place on Earth (unless you take really small children that whine a lot) but I do need to say that it was sooo cool going in October because it was themed for Halloween and they had the haunted mansion themed for Nightmare Before Christmas!!! Because of that it became the happier than happiest place on earth!
Score for the geek squad! |
Got this song stuck in our head all day. |
