It was so nice this Thanksgiving holiday because Heather and Jackie are home now! Delicious food too.

Got my devotional

I was sooooo looking forward to getting Ann Voskamp's One Thousand Gifts Devotional. I saw it on her blog a few weeks ago, so I immediately called my Christian bookstore to see if they had it in. After being on hold for forever, ha ha, he tells me it doesn't come out until the 20th. So sad. So yesterday morning I hurried up straight to the store, and whatta ya know? They didn't have any, and they hadn't ordered any. Sad again. So she took my name and number and told me she would call me when it came in. Yesterday afternoon, she calls me and tells me they got a shipment in, and there was one devotional in there, I was sooooo excited! So I ran down there and got my book. It made my day. I love Ann Voskamp, she seriously rocks. What a great treat for myself on Day 7 of zero cigarettes.

Applebees for Veterans

Heather and Jackie finally came back from Michigan on Saturday night, so we had a get together at Applebees on Sunday for dinner. Veterans eat free! There of course was a long wait, but that's ok. I made sure to bring their birthday gifts, I just couldn't wait until their actual birthdays.

Goodbye Cigarettes???

Here I am yet again, writing another I'm going to quit smoking post. Ugh, I really do have a love hate relationship with my cigarettes. I started re-reading You Too Can Quit, and have made my list of reasons I want to quit.......

1. Get fit
2. Be healthy on the inside
3. Smell good
4. Korissa
5. More money
6. More time
7. Tremors (I have head tremors that can't be explained, and they are sooo bad when I smoke).

So, the steps I'm taking this week are:

1. I've moved my outside smoking to my front step. I usually smoke in my backyard in a chair, but I need to make it as inconvenient as possible. Oh man, it's freezing in the front, and that step makes my butt cold.
2. Not have a cigarette until after I shower. My first cigarette of the day is the most anticipated, by waiting, it will train me to not want it so much.
3. Not have a cigarette right before bed.
4. I'm going to read my list of reasons throughout the day.
5. Eliminate smoking in my truck.
6. Yoga

After I finally do quit, I'm going to add cardio into my workouts. I also have gone back to my vegan eating this last week, so that is good too. I don't understand why this quitting thing is so freakin hard. I've been going back and forth with it for almost 2 years now. It's driving me bonkers, so, that's why I'm taking these baby steps, hopefully that will help.

Voted 2012

This election was hard for me, because I really didn't know who I was going to vote for, so I decided I wasn't even going to vote. But, this morning I woke up, and thought how thankful I was that I am an American. It got me thinking, "ya know, people worked hard for me to even be able to vote", so, I did! Being the procrastinator that I am however, I had to wait in line for 20 minutes to even drop off my ballot...ha ha. I am so thankful that I live where I do!

Changes

Wow, I haven't posted anything for a very long time. There have been so many changes lately.....Heather came home, Lacey moved in with Heather and Jackie, Autumn. Fall is my favorite time of year, Halloween being my favorite, and then all the holidays right after, I love it. This year, I feel blah, not content, and not counting my blessings. I don't know when this started, or why, but I'm tired of it. Soooo.....I'm going to make sure to journal more, to count my gifts every day, to make time for quiet. I don't like how I feel when I'm ungrateful, it gives me a resentful heart, and leads me to not be joyful.
