Forget Me Not

Sometimes when I think back on my past and wonder why I made the choices I made, I think about how I really did think I was doing the right thing (even though sometimes it wasn't the right thing). Then I think of the material things lost, the tears lost, trust lost, love lost. Sometimes it hurts to look back at the past, especially when it was so painful. But, I try and remember and remind myself never to forget what I learned from the experience. At times though, I get really angry and unforgiving, but the quote below always comes to my mind. It helps my heart get right again, it brings me peace, and makes me wish the best for even those that hurt me, broke me, and took from me. It makes it all worth while, even the brokenness that I felt at times. I don't ever want to forget experiences, even the bad ones. For one thing, it helps me appreciate what I do have more, and it also helps me to have a heart towards others. Even though at times I don't think they deserve it, I remember that I don't at times either. I love hard lessons, not at the time of course, but later when I can see that it was all for a purpose, and even though I may not always know that purpose, it's there somewhere.......

 People are often unreasonable, irrational and self-centered;
 Forgive them anyway.
 If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
 Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies;
 Succeed anyway.
 If you are honest and sincere, people may deceive you;
 Be honest and sincere anyway.
 What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight;
 Create anyway.
 If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous;
 Be happy anyway.
 The good you do today, will often be forgotten;
 Do good anyway.
 Give the best you have, and it may never be enough;
 Give your best anyway.
 In the final analysis, it is between you and God;
 It was never between you and them anyway.
