My top 10 romantic movies

OK, so this was a very hard decision. I mean, a top 10? Well, I had to think long and hard about this, I know, I know, there are much more important things to think about, but hey, this stuff is fun! Some are comedies, some are really dramatic, some are action, they all make me cry to some extent (uh, some have me bawling like a Babe when she doesn't get her way), and are full of romance. My top 10 romantic movies of all time (so far anyways) are.....

Number 10
Top Gun
Who can resist Berlin singing "Take my Breathe Away"? This was before Tom Cruise was jumping up and down on couches and talking Scientology, and before we found out Kelly McGillis was actually a lesbian....they had some steamy chemistry!!!
Number 9

Somethings Gotta Give
Ok, Jack Nicholson is not my favorite leading man, but him and Diane Keaton in this movie, wow, love it!!

Number 8

Pretty in Pink
Molly Ringwald was my favorite 80's star (well, next to Madonna). She's still awesome. Who can resist Jon Cryer (for you youngies he's now on Two and a Half Men) as Duckie, hopelessly in love with Andie? Andrew McCarthy was a big 80's star too, also in the Brat Packers Club.
Number 7

Sleepless in Seattle

Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan....need I say more?

Number 6

Phantom of the Opera

Ahhh, a romantic musical, then add Gerard Butler.....heaven!

Number 5

Serendipity

I just love John Cusack in this movie. Definitely romantic!

Number 4

Grease

I can remember when I snuck a peak in the closet one year where my mom tried to hide my Christmas presents, and finding the Grease soundtrack record. Oh man, was I excited. I can't watch this movie without singing along.

Number 3

Ever After

Fairy Tale style romance, can't ask for more.

Number 2

The Wedding Singer

"Julia Goolia", 80's soundtrack, Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, a best friend that dresses like Madonna, a serenade on a plane....perfect!

DRUM ROLL PLEASE.........

Number 1's, yep it's a tie (and it's not cheating, because I made up this list and I make the rules)......

Sixteen Candles

I know, you wouldn't expect this to be number one huh? Well, this movie has everything in it, even the Geek. Oh, and John Cusak playing a total nerd, Molly Ringwald in her most awesomest of roles, and Jake Ryan.

Titanic

Ahhh....Kate Winslet and Leonardo Dicaprio

Honorable mentions if I called it my top 17, these would be on it.....

The Holiday

The Notebook

Gone with the Wind

This probably would have been on the top 10, but Scarlett was just too mean to Rhett, so it got bumped.

Fever Pitch

I'm a sucker for Drew romance and have a small crush on Jimmy Fallon

Dirty Dancing

"Nobody puts Baby in a corner"

Love Actually

This really would be tied with Something's Gotta Give, but my rule is only one tie per list...ha, ha

50 First Dates

Yep, another Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler

The Dead Washer

Monday is my wash day (well Sunday actually, but I waited till Monday). I started the load like any other day, started cooking my dinner, then I realized I couldn't hear the washer going anymore. Thinking I overfilled it with clothes, I went in there to move things around. My washer is really really old, and very sensitive. Well, overfilling wasn't the problem, it just wasn't going to start up again. Great, all of my clothes are now soaked! So, I take out my soaking wet clothes, and put them in a garbage bag inside my laundry basket. John drains the water out with a pitcher, then of course has to resort to something smaller in the end. We find out it's the belt that broke.
So, the next day John gets a belt. I come home, and when I open the door to the utility room (I go through the garage cause I park my car in there), the washer is still on its side and John is in an EXTREMELY bad mood. He was working on it for an hour and a half, and when I got home, he was boiling. So, I pull out my Ipod and start dinner, find out my Tarot has arrived, but with all the tension in the air, I save opening it until later, because I was just too excited about it, I didn't want anything to burst that bubble. Anyways, we now need to get a new washer, because as he was fixing it, it started falling apart (cause its really super old).
Now my house is smelling like gross wet clothes. I need to take them over to my moms tonight to wash them, cause soon my house will be unbearable because of the smell. Not to mention the fact that we will be out of underwear very soon, and all our towels are now soaked because the washer hoses were left over night on the floor, so this morning I woke up to a big wet mess.

The Fairy Tale Tarot

I'm so excited. The tarot deck I have been waiting for is set to arrive today at my house. SAWEET. Lisa Hunt is the artist and author, she's my favorite tarot artist. I own all of her decks, but this one I am thinking will be my absolute favorite. The Time Traveler's Wife

So, I was going to go see the Perfect Getaway this wknd, but I've been having really weird vivid dreams lately, and really didn't want to see anything even remotely gorey. I decided to see the Time Traveler's Wife instead. I'm a a big Rachel McAdams fan (loved her in Notebook) and Eric Bana was awesome in Troy, so I just pretty much went based on that. I knew it was based on a book, because I saw it in Borders last week, and almost picked it up. I loved the movie. I have heard the book is even better (when is it not?), and decided to go pick it up. Of course our Salems Borders didn't have any left in stock, I don't know who does the ordering at that place, but they really suck at it, and should have prepared themselves for a ton of copies of the book on the opening wknd of the movie, anyways, didn't get the book, but will keep a look out for it. I will definetly get this movie when it comes out on DVD.

Shipping to Iraq

I shipped the cookies to Heather last Monday, and she already received them. I was actually shocked at how quickly she got them. She was very excited to get something from home. So, if you want to ship her something homeade, just know it doesn't take too long to get there, and my package only cost 12.00. I just know that she would love to get more things from home. She loves cookies, brownies, rice krispe treats, homeade breads....but nothing with peanut butter, she hates peanut butter.

Movie and then some

John and I went and saw GI Joe yesterday.....it was soooo good. Well, my opinion anyways, believe it or not, I liked it better then Transformers (got tired of all the Transformers hype, but that's not the only reason). GI Joe was NON STOP action. I loved the characters too. For those of you who don't know, John has been a huge GI Joe fan since he was younger. He has all the old toys still (tons of them, he wants his own room to put them all up, but I think its so he can play with them). He has the comic books too. I sat down and read them one time in about a week, but that was a long time ago. He liked the movie, but of course they didn't follow the old comics with some of the characters, but he did like it (not as much as Transformers, but then again, Megan Fox wasn't in GI Joe).....

Today we went up to Jacks and John worked on his car brakes. While they were working, Korissa and I had a little picnic out by the garden.

Just like her mommy when she was little, she loves playing with rocks.....

Great Grandpa gave her a new cool wagon too. She would not go in it at all until I took off the sides....then she climbed right on it, and wanted rides the rest of the time.

Baking cookies for Auntie Heather

Korissa did a great job pouring all the ingredients into the bowl. She laughed every time I used the blender, I'm not sure why she found that so amusing. She sampled the chocolate chips, and of course had to lick the beaters. She even got to take a small bag of cookies home to share with mommy and daddy. Oh, she did go right to sleep for nap, must have been all the excitement. I don't edit my pics, so what you see is what you get, the nap picture turned out blurry, but it's still really cute!
